I hear a lot of companies promoting their skin health regimen for men or any skin care products for men as being not complicated or easy to use. It seems their is a stigma that taking care of your skin must be hard to use and it needs to be made easier but that is not the case. Whether you are a man or woman you can make skin care easier with these 5 steps you can start today.
- Cleanse Daily- I think this one is the most basic. Find a cleanser that you like and one that fits your skin concerns. Wash your face once in the morning and once at night. If you are like me and might go to the gym early evening or late morning, wash your face after you sweat.
- Scrub or exfoliate 2x week — If you have oily skin you may need to exfoliate more frequently. You may need to use a scrub that contains an AHA like Salycilic acid and/or glycolic acid. One to try is the his daily scrub which helps unclog pores like those in your nose, containing both salyclic and glycolic acids.
- Moisturize, moisturize and moisturize — My forehead tends to get very dry which increases the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines. Use one that is light and absorbs quickly so you don’t feel heavy on your face. The his Ultre Lite Youth is one that contains vitamins and antioxidants that not only our body needs but also your skin.
- Use Retinol — As long as you do not have very sensitive skin using retinol can be a game changer. Retinol helps to regenerate new skin cells, turning over the bad damage on your skin and making way for new skin. It is a form of Vitamin A and has been getting a lot of buzz lately. There are a lot of not so good retinol products, if it is too cheap it may not be beneficial. When mixed with ingredients like Green tea or hyaluronic acid it may help to reduce dryness and irritation. There is a good chance if it is strong retinol you will be dry and irritated for the first few weeks. Start with once or twice per week, only one time at night before bed. Make sure to wear a heavy duty sunscreen as it may increase your chances of getting a sun burn. Check out the his retinol serum.
- Use sunscreen — Using sunscreen I would think goes without saying. Protect yourself. However it can be much more than that. The his tinted physical is one that is made from only mineral ingredients. That means only zinc, which has been called the safest of the sunscreen ingredients. Plus it is the best for oily skin or people prone to acne. Using one that has a tint means it gives your skin an even tone helping to mask or cover up any imperfections like scarring or redness. It is one of the few products that you se instant results and do not need to keep using it. You put it on and it works.
I hope that helps and if you have any questions please contact me and I will add the answers to the next post.
