Tell us about your childhood and where you grew up

I grew up in Chicago, IL on the Southside. Growing up I took every opportunity available to better myself and my life. My family made sure I was loved, protected, and able to hold my own when it came time. They did their best and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.

How did you get started as an entrepreneur?

Becoming an entrepreneur was something that I just found myself in honestly. In 2016, entrepreneurship looked totally different than how it is now. I spent a lot of time finding resources and making sense of what I was doing and wanted to do. There were a lot of lessons to be learned, but my journey has definitely gotten better with time.

What is one business lesson you would tell a startup founder?

Although there are many things I would share, I would tell them to be ready to take risks. Taking risks will teach you lessons that you didn’t know you needed, open many doors, and take you to many places. You just have to be willing to take them.
